Northwest Missouri Bearcats are the men's basketball team of Northwest Missouri State University, a Division II school in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Bearcats compete in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) and play their home games at Bearcat Arena in Maryville, Missouri.
The Northwest Missouri Bearcats have won five NCAA Division II national championships in school history, in 2005, 2009, 2012, 2016, and 2017. The Bearcats have also won six MIAA regular season championships, in 2004, 2005, 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2016.
The Northwest Missouri Bearcats have a proud tradition of excellence, and have produced a number of outstanding players over the years, including several NCAA Division II All-Americans. In recent years, the Bearcats have been one of the most successful programs in Division II, and have sent several players to the NBA, including Justin Hamilton, Ben McLemore, and Justin Robinson.
